Products to help you build in protection

Controlling the flow of air and moisture in and out of the building helps keep long-term HVAC costs down as well as reducing the incidence of mold or other problems that can be much more expensive to mitigate later. 3M™ Air and Vapor Barrier products come in lightweight rolls for easier handling and can be applied without priming in a wide range of temperatures. Our flashing, seaming and sealing products are similarly easy to work with to seal through penetrations.

Fire barriers resist the spread of fire for critical minutes to give occupants more time to get to safety. Our experts have been at the forefront of fire protection since the industry began, and we understand how important it is to make 3M firestop products easy to apply. We apply science to create new products that stick to more substrates in more situations, and when you come across new situations we can also provide Engineering Judgements that help clarify expected performance.

Insulation around pipes and ducting helps reduce the loss of heat or cooling to the environment, but the insulation can also be damaged, either directly or by condensation. 3M Insulation Moisture Barriers provide a vapor seal to prevent moisture from entering and condensing to damage insulation as well as providing protection against weather or harsh chemical environments that pipes or ducting may pass through. These products not only perform reliably through temperature extremes, they’re easy to apply with minimal equipment.
