Crystalline

If you are looking for the ultimate in high technology, superior clarity and performance with a premium look – then 3M™ Crystalline Automotive Window Films feature a proprietary, multilayer optical film technology that combines over 200 layers in a film that is thinner than a Post-it® Note. This unique technology is the reason a clear film can reject more heat than darker films, without changing your car's appearance.

FX HP

FX HP gives a hot look on the outside, but is cool and private on the inside. A hybrid of two film technologies, FX HP combines a dyed film with a metalized film to provide additional heat rejection and improved comfort. FX HP is an economical window film alternative that provides excellent heat rejection without sacrificing quality. Because FX HP incorporates a metalized film, it may have slight interference with wireless signals.

FX Premium

FX Premium delivers good looks and great performance, keeping you and your passengers cool and comfortable. As 3M's newest automotive window film addition, FX Premium offers an economical alternative without sacrificing quality. Because FX Premium is non-metalized, you will enjoy no signal interference on your cell phone, satellite radio or GPS system.

Black Chrome

Black Chrome utilizes a metalized film technology, providing maximum heat rejection and significantly improved comfort. This same metal layer creates a unique look to your vehicle, with higher exterior reflectivity. Because Black Chrome utilizes a metalized film technology, it may interfere with wireless signals.

Frequently asked questions about Window Tint

  • Durability and peace of mind. High-quality films provide a durable finish that lasts as long as you own your vehicle. A product from 3M, a name you know and trust, paired with the most skilled installers and comprehensive warranty in the industry, will give you the confidence that you and your window tint will be protected.

  • 3M Automotive Window Films are designed to reduce the amount of solar heat transmission through window glass by increasing the solar reflection (not necessarily visible reflection) and solar absorption through the glass.

All 3M Automotive Window Films are made to be transparent and optically clear. The ultraviolet protection is built into the adhesive system to provide longevity to the film as well as provide UV protection for your home and office furnishings.

  • Nothing completely stops fading. 3M Window Films are designed to help reduce the major causes of fading (ultra violet light, visible light, and solar heat), thus prolonging the life of your furnishings, perhaps as much as two to five times. Generally, ultra violet (UV) is approximately 40% of the cause, visible light is about 25%, and heat about 25%. The remaining 10% can be attributed to humidity, pollutants, interior lights, dye stability, and more.

  • After thirty (30) days, you may clean 3M™ Films using normal household cleaning solutions, including ammonia-based products: e.g., Windex, and a soft, lint-free cloth or towel. You may also use a squeegee to clean the films. Abrasive products which would scratch or damage the film should not be used.

  • 3M™ Safety and Security Window Films are designed to make glass shatter-resistant by holding the glass pieces together when broken.

  • To ensure the quality, appearance and durability of your tint, it is important that a trained and experienced installer complete the installation for you. Our 3M authorized installers are here to answer any of your questions about possible coverage options, solutions, pricing and maintenance of your auto tint and will do a high-quality install for you. • When you see the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation for our 3M Automotive Window Film Crystalline Series, Ceramic IR Series and Obsidian Series, this distinction is based on testing qualifications meeting the Skin Cancer Foundation criteria and standards established by their Photobiology committee to block 99% or more of UVA and UVB radiation. For nearly 40 years, the Seal has been trusted by consumers to represent safe and effective sun protection. All product applications are reviewed by a volunteer committee of dermatologists with expertise in photobiology (the study of the interaction of ultraviolet light and the skin). • 3M has over 55 years of automotive window tint innovation and technology, receiving our first sun control window film patent in 1966.

  • 3M Automotive Window Film Obsidian Series contains 3M patented infused technology which helps prevent purpling and improved durability of the window tint.

  • Non-metallized window film lets you stay connected with mobile devices, GPS or satellite radio reception without interference.

  • The Color Stable Series incorporates a unique process for producing nano carbon polyester. This revolutionary process allows for maximum heat rejection without a metal film layer, which can interfere with radio and/or satellite signals. It also gives the film a stylish look with outstanding color stability, so it never turns purple.

  • Nano-ceramic technology provides a high level of infrared heat rejection due to the absorptive technology. Rejection of up to 66% of the total solar energy and up to 95% of the heat-producing infrared rays (IRER+ up to 67%) gives you the ultimate in comfort. This 3M technology is compatible with 5G devices to stay connected.

  • The Crystalline Series features a proprietary, multilayer optical film nano technology that combines over 200 layers in a film that is thinner than a Post it® Note. This unique technology is the reason a clear film can reject more heat than darker films. Thin film technology is a core competency at 3M, and the multilayer film technology we incorporate in our newest window film is similar to those 3M developed for use in a range of trusted products found in your home or office.

  • 1) TSER – Total Solar Energy Rejection: The percentage of total solar energy rejected by filmed glass. The higher this value, the less solar heat is transmitted.

    2) VLT – Visible Light Transmitted: The percentage of visible light that passes directly through filmed glass: the higher the number, the lighter the film.

    3) Ultraviolet Rejection: The percentage of ultraviolet (UV) light that is rejected by the filmed glass. UV light contributes to the fading and deterioration of fabrics and leather.

    4) IRR – Infrared Rejection: The percentage of solar infrared energy rejection, over the wavelength range from 900-1,000 nm. Infrared rays are primarily responsible for the heat you feel when driving

    5) IRER – Infrared Energy Rejection: The percent of solar infrared energy rejection over the wavelength range from 780–2,500 nm. IRER takes into account the transmitted and absorbed IR energy that will be reradiated into a car.

    6) Glare Reduction: The percentage by which visible light is reduced by the addition of film.
