Choosing 3M™ Electrically Conductive Gasket Tapes for grounding and shielding includes basic application requirements beyond just tape thickness and bond line thickness. 3M™ Electrically Conductive Gasket Tapes are compressible electrically conductive open-cell urethane foam gaskets with single or double-coated conductive adhesives. These XYZ-axis electrically conductive gaskets deliver excellent conductivity to ground two surfaces – even across wide gaps – as well as low electrical resistance for EMI shielding.

Gasket tape types

Single-sided gasket tapes

3M™ Electrically Conductive Gasket Tapes are available with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive applied to one side of a compressive, laminated conductive foam/fabric carrier. It is excellent for ESD grounding as well as securing conductive connections and EMI shielding enclosures.
Double-coated gasket tapes

Conductive acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive is applied to both sides of a highly-compressible polymeric foam gasket. 3M™ Electrically Conductive Gasket Tapes deliver EMI shielding, contact grounding and flexibility for complete gap filling in the bond line, as well as a mechanical cushion to help protect from mechanical shock/vibration in the electronic devices.
