3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FE 5643Q is an intermediate viscosity copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene with 66% fluorine. This fluoroelastomer (FKM) offers a number of important features and upgrades including excellent mold release, improved cure, and scorch resistance for very good performance in compression molding and high molding temperatures.

Improved, Faster Cure. Better Finished Parts.

3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FE 5643Q is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene. This product can be compounded using standard water cooled internal mixers or two roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical fluoroelastomer formulations. The dry ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, Dyneon fluoroelastomer FE 5643Q should be banded on the mill several minutes prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks have good scorch resistance and storage stability.

Our Dyneon fluoroelastomer FE 5643Q is clean running and offers a number of important features. First, FE 5643Q is a faster curing version of 3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FE 5640Q. Faster cure means faster results to keep jobs moving quickly and to help increase throughput.

Not only is the cure quicker, FE 5643Q offers overall improvements including improved scorch resistance at high molding temperatures – resulting in more consistent part size from successive molding cycles. The excellent mold release may help improve the quality of finished parts as well.

The Right Size to Fit the Job

Compounders and formulators can find the right size to meet the needs of the job. Our Dyneon fluoroelastomer FE 5643Q is packaged in milled slab form (as opposed to unmilled forms like crumb) and is available in a returnable bulk shipping container system for 1,320 lbs (600 kg) of material. The bulk container system is comprised of 48 individual polyethylene bags containing 27.5 lbs (12.5 kg) of product. Smaller quantities are available in 55.1 lbs (25.0 kg) boxes.
