3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FE 5610 is a low viscosity copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene with 66% fluorine. This fluoroelastomer (FKM) has proprietary incorporated cure technology that may help save time and increase throughput.
Improved Mold Release and Scorch Resistance
3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FE 5610 can be compounded using standard water cooled internal mixers or two roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical fluoroelastomer formulations. The dry ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, Dyneon fluoroelastomer FE 5610 should be banded on the mill several minutes prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks have good scorch resistance and storage stability.
FE 5610 has a number of excellent attributes that make it well suited for use in high temperatures, injection molding and transfer molding applications. First, this product has improved mold release properties and better cure response to higher molding temperatures. Additionally, FE 5610 can be utilized as a viscosity modifier, and contains a proprietary incorporated cure technology that may help save time and increase throughput.
Different Quantities to Fit the Needs of the Job
Different quantities are available so compounders can find the right amount for the job. FE 5610 is packaged in milled slab form (as opposed to unmilled forms like crumb) and is available in a returnable bulk shipping container system for 1,320 Ibs (600 kg) of material. The bulk container system is comprised of 48 individual polyethylene bags containing 27.5 Ibs (12.5 kg) of product. Smaller quantities are available in 55.1 Ib (25.0 kg) boxes.
