Highlights
  • Low temperature peroxide curable for faster processing
  • Versatile use – injection and transfer molding, extrusion, bonding and calendering
  • Improved low temperature performance compared to standard peroxide grades
  • Excellent physical properties

3M™ Dyneon™ Low Temperature Fluoroelastomer LTFE 6320Z is a low temperature peroxide curable terpolymer of vinylidene fluoride, tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoromethylvinylether containing 64.3% fluorine. This fluoroelastomer has excellent physical properties and offers outstanding chemical resistance and reliable performance down to -30ºC.

Improved Low Temperature Performance
Vehicles and equipment operating in extremely cold environments require sealing materials that won’t shrink, stiffen or crack. 3M™ Dyneon™ Low Temperature Fluoroelastomer LTFE 6320Z is designed for improved low temperature performance compared to standard peroxide curable grades – but at a lower cost for applications that don’t require 40ºC performance.

Dyneon low temperature fluoroelastomer LTFE 6320Z offers true dynamic sealing at temperatures down to 30ºC, making it an excellent option for fuel injector O rings and other low temperature sealing applications. LTFE 6320Z is similar in formulation and properties to 3M™ Dyneon™ Low Temperature Fluoroelastomer LTFE 6350Z, but at a lower viscosity for optimized processing.

A Versatile Fluoroelastomer
Dyneon low temperature fluoroelastomer LTFE 6320Z has a number of favorable attributes that make it suitable for use in injection and transfer molding, extrusion and calendering. It has excellent physical properties and offers outstanding chemical resistance for product durability and longevity.

LTFE 6320Z can be compounded using standard water cooled internal mixers or two roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical fluoroelastomer formulations. The dry ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, LTFE 6320Z should be banded on the mill prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks have good scorch resistance and storage stability.
