3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FX 6792 is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropylene with a fluorine content of 65.9%. This FKM is designed to develop a higher modulus while also processing similarly to other fluoroelastomers. It is used in transfer and injection molding and maintains high press-cured elongation tear strength.
Made to Develop a Higher Modulus
We created 3M™ Dyneon™ Fluoroelastomer FX 6792 to develop a higher modulus during post cure than other fluoroelastomers that are currently available on the market. The development of a higher modulus is independent of filler type or amount.
Dyneon fluoroelastomer FX 6792 can be compounded using standard water cooled internal mixers or two roll mills with standard fillers and ingredients utilized in typical FKM formulations. The dry ingredients should be blended before adding to the masticated gum. For best results, FX 6792 should be banded on the mill prior to adding the blended dry ingredients. Once mixed, the compounded stocks have good scorch resistance and storage stability.
