Hybrid approach addresses customer demand for in-ear hearing protection while retaining the advantage of the ComTac III over-the-ear style.
- Same features and functionality as ComTac III
- Headband mechanically stabilizes the headset to relieve issues of earplugs dislodging due to cable snags and body movement
- Electronics are contained completely inside the headset housing, eliminating the need for a large, heavy radio control push-to-talk

3M Announces Selection for U.S. Army TCAPS Program

The U.S. Army has accepted two 3M™ products to equip soldiers with hearing protection and auditory situational awareness.
The 3M Personal Safety Division has received initial orders for more than 11,000 devices that include 3M™ PELTOR™ TEP-100 Tactical Earplug Kits and 3M™ PELTOR™ ComTac™ III ACH Communications headsets, plus spare parts and accessories.
Deployment of these Tactical Communications and Protective Systems (TCAPS) is managed by PEO Soldier.
